The Jeep Wrangler has always been about rugged simplicity. But what if Jeep decided to create a premium version, targeting buyers who want off-road capability without sacrificing luxury? Designer Abimelec Design has imagined just that, rendering a high-end Wrangler that could rival vehicles like the Mercedes-AMG G 63—but at a fraction of the price. This isn’t likely to happen soon, but it highlights how much room Jeep has to expand its offerings.
Refining the Iconic Look
The renderings showcase a Wrangler stripped of its utilitarian elements. The black bumpers and wheel arches are replaced with body-colored parts, and generous chrome accents now adorn the grille and air intakes. Side-exit exhaust pipes, mirroring the G-Class design, and a more refined spare wheel cover complete the upscale aesthetic.
Hellcat Power and Suspension Upgrades
To justify a six-figure price tag, this Wrangler would need serious performance enhancements. The designer proposes an independent front suspension to eliminate the notorious “death wobble” that plagues some Wranglers. Power could come from the 6.2-liter supercharged Hellcat V8, delivering over 700 horsepower. To handle that power, larger brakes are also integrated into the design.
The Question of Demand
Jeep already offers a V8 Wrangler in the US, so a flagship model with even more power is plausible. But would buyers choose this over established luxury off-roaders like the G-Class or Land Rover Defender? The renderings spark a debate about how far Jeep can push the Wrangler formula before losing its core appeal.
Ultimately, this concept demonstrates that Jeep could potentially carve out a new niche in the high-end off-road market, but only if it can balance luxury with the Wrangler’s signature ruggedness.
