LDV Recalls MIFA and MIFA 9 Over Steering Defect

Ateco Automotive is conducting a recall of both the petrol-powered LDV MIFA and the electric LDV MIFA 9 people movers due to a potentially dangerous defect in their steering systems. The issue centers around insufficient lubrication of the worm wheel within the Electronic Power Steering (EPS), which could lead to a sudden and unexpected increase in steering effort while driving.

The Risk and Affected Vehicles

According to the recall notice, the lack of proper lubrication may cause drivers to lose control, significantly increasing the risk of an accident resulting in serious injury or even death to vehicle occupants and other road users.

A total of 1,133 vehicles manufactured between 2022 and 2025 are affected. Owners can verify if their vehicle is included by checking the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) list provided in the original recall notice.
