The upcoming refresh of Audi’s Q4 E-Tron electric crossover has been previewed in near-production form, revealing significant design changes and a heavily upgraded interior. Spy shots confirm a bolder exterior and a completely redesigned cabin with cutting-edge technology.
Exterior Redesign: A Sharper Look
The most noticeable update is the front fascia. Audi is moving towards a more streamlined aesthetic with a fully enclosed grille featuring a distinctive wave-like pattern. The surrounding trim has been reshaped for increased presence, complemented by a revised front bumper and updated air curtains.
Minor tweaks to the headlights are possible, though current images suggest they remain largely unchanged. At the rear, the Q4 receives a cleaner bumper design, ditching faux vents in favor of a more integrated look with new exterior accents and a redesigned diffuser. Overall, the refresh gives the Q4 a more modern and aggressive stance.
Interior Overhaul: Bigger, Better, Curved Displays
While spy photographers haven’t captured the interior yet, previous leaks confirm a complete dashboard overhaul. The Q4 will adopt a freestanding, curved display similar to newer Audi models, including an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.5-inch infotainment touchscreen, and an optional 10.9-inch passenger display.
This is a major step up from the current model’s 10.25-inch cluster and 11.6-inch infotainment system. The crossover is also expected to receive a new steering wheel and refined switchgear. This upgrade will bring the Q4’s interior in line with Audi’s latest design language.
Powertrain and Performance: Expected Improvements
Details on powertrain upgrades remain scarce, but an improved battery pack and more efficient electric motors are likely. The current Q4 45 e-tron has an 82 kWh battery and produces 282 hp, allowing for a 0-60 mph time of 6.3 seconds and an EPA-estimated range of 288 miles.
The Q4 55 e-tron quattro offers a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup with 335 hp, dropping the 0-60 mph time to five seconds but reducing the range to 258 miles. Expect the refresh to address these range limitations with more efficient motors and battery technology.
The Q4 E-Tron facelift represents a substantial upgrade for Audi’s electric crossover, bringing it in line with the brand’s latest design and technology standards. The combination of exterior styling, interior enhancements, and potential powertrain improvements makes this refresh a significant step forward for the model.
